SOUND TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE?

 

You may have heard about the adverts from one of our window competitors that were banned recently because they were misleading customers.

 

It was because the company was advertising a whopping 55% discount, but the offer wasn’t actually based on a price that the products are usually sold at. According to the Advertising Standards Agency, the company has so many offers on throughout the year that the windows had only been sold at the full price for 26 days in the last 6 months.

 

This means customers genuinely think they are getting a good deal, but they’re not actually receiving any discount, as the offer price is just the price that the windows are usually sold at!

 

The old saying must be true – if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
